When it's time for service

  • Your oil-life monitor or maintenance reminder is on
  • You've reached the mileage on your last oil change sticker
  • The oil pressure light flickers, or the oil level is low on the dipstick
  • You hear ticking or knocking from the engine, especially at startup
  • You're coming up on a major mileage milestone in your owner's manual, such as 30,000, 60,000 or 90,000 miles
  • You see squealing belts, cracked hoses or fluid spots under the car

Preventive maintenance we handle

Oil and filter service

Fresh oil of the grade and specification your manufacturer calls for, plus a new filter. Many newer engines need a specific full-synthetic oil.

Fluids

Coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid and transmission fluid all break down over time. We check them and service them on your manufacturer's schedule.

Filters

A clogged engine air filter costs you power and fuel economy. A dirty cabin filter weakens airflow from the vents and can make the cabin smell musty.

Belts and hoses

Rubber hardens and cracks with age and heat. A failed serpentine belt or coolant hose can leave you stranded.

Scheduled maintenance

Your owner's manual lays out what's due at each mileage interval. Bring it in and we'll work through what your vehicle needs at its current mileage.

How often should you change your oil?

It depends on the engine, the oil and how you drive. Many newer vehicles that run full-synthetic oil have intervals in the range of 5,000 to 10,000 miles, and many have an oil-life monitor that calculates it for you. Older engines and conventional oil usually need changes more often.

Short trips, stop-and-go traffic, towing and cold Indiana winters all count as severe service in most owner's manuals. If that describes your driving, follow the shorter interval. When in doubt, follow your owner's manual. We can look up the schedule for your vehicle.

Oil Change & Maintenance FAQ

How often do I need an oil change?

Follow your vehicle's oil-life monitor or the interval in your owner's manual. Many newer cars on full-synthetic oil run 5,000 to 10,000 miles between changes, but short trips, stop-and-go driving, towing and cold weather can call for the shorter severe-service interval.

What kind of oil does my car need?

It depends on your engine. Your owner's manual or oil filler cap lists the required viscosity, such as 0W-20 or 5W-30, and many newer vehicles require full-synthetic oil that meets a specific specification. Tell us your year, make and model when you book, and we'll match your manufacturer's requirements.

Can I wait while my oil is changed?

Yes. Our waiting area has free WiFi, free coffee and a snack bar. If you'd rather not wait, ask about our shuttle or use after-hours drop-off.

Will having maintenance done at an independent shop affect my factory warranty?

Generally, no. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer can't void your warranty just because routine maintenance was done somewhere other than the dealer. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual and keep your service records.

Do you service all makes and models?

Yes. We work on all makes and models, from routine maintenance to engine and transmission replacements.
